Get Involved

Help us to make your home the best it can be

It's important that all our residents have the opportunity to have their say about the services we offer to support them in their home. Being an ‘Involved Resident’ gives you an opportunity to report on our performance, help shape how we deliver our services, and to share ideas and ways in which we can support our residents. It’s a great way of getting involved with other residents too whose voices you will represent.

Resident Scrutiny Panel

The Resident Scrutiny Panel (RSP) looks at our services and policies on:

  • Allocation and letting
  • Anti-social behaviour
  • Housing Service Management
  • Repairs, Maintenance and Rent Collection
  • Customer Care
  • The Environment

The RSP reports to the Executive Management Team with a view to influencing its decision making. If you feel strongly about a service we provide and would like to have a say this group is for you.

To become a member of our panel, you will need to first register your interest by emailing us at engagementandcommunities@inquilabha.org. There is no age limit, but you must be an Inquilab resident or member of a resident’s family to join.

Customer Advisory Panel

Joining our Customer Advisory Panel (CAP) will give you a say on how our services are shaped and delivered.

As a CAP member we will contact you to find out your views on our services. The information you provide will be sent to the Resident Scrutiny Panel (above) who will consider your views before passing them on to our management team.

The aims of the CAP are to:

  • Provide views on how to develop and improve services
  • Influence discussions on our housing strategy
  • Monitor our contractors’ performance
  • Support the formation of resident associations and lend support to existing groups
  • Work with us in delivering excellent landlord services
  • Promote value for money in our housing services

There are many ways you can get involved as a CAP member and it’s up to you how much, or little, involvement you would like. You can:

  • Take part in satisfaction surveys over the phone
  • Complete surveys and questionnaires
  • Read and comment on information before publications
  • Be a ‘mystery shopper’ – checking our estates
  • Take part in focus groups and consultation events
  • Become an estate inspector
  • Help plan our resident events and conferences
  • Take part in service reviews

This is a volunteering role, requiring a commitment of least one hour a month. If you would like to join our Customer Advisory Panel, you will need to first register your interest by emailing us at engagementandcommunities@inquilabha.org. There is no age limit, but you must be an Inquilab resident or member of a resident’s family to join.

Resident Monitors

Our Resident Monitors check the communal (shared) areas of our estates every month and monitor how well we are managing the gardening and cleaning services. This is an extremely valuable role as it provides us with regular feedback from our resident’s perspective, as well as supplements the inspections we carry out twice a year. Training is provided, and for each inspection, our monitors and Estate Inspectors will receive a £20 voucher.

If you would like to become a Resident Monitor you will need to first register your interest by emailing us at engagementandcommunities@inquilabha.org. There is no age limit, but you must be an Inquilab resident or member of a resident’s family to join.

Fire Marshal

If you would like to become a Fire Marshal for your building please register your interest by emailing us at engagementandcommunities@inquilabha.org.

You must be 18 years or over and training will be given.

Editorial Panelist

We want to make sure we're communicating effectively with all our residents. In joining our Editorial Panel you will be working with our Marketing and Communications specialist in helping to find and share stories, publish news on social media, and feedback to us about the things our residents want to hear about. The panel meets every six months. If you're interested please email newsroom@inquilabha.org.

You can also get involved as a volunteer for Inquilab or within your community. The links below offer information on our community engagemenet programmes and volunteering opportunities.
