Staircasing

 

If you are a shared owner, you will own a percentage of your home and pay rent to Inquilab Housing Association on the part you do not own.

Staircasing allows you to buy more shares in your home, resulting in you owning a larger percentage of the property.

For example, if you have bought a shared ownership property and we each own 50% and you decide to buy another 25% of your home through staircasing, you would own 75% of it altogether.

There are different rules about the minimum share you can buy so please refer to your lease.
